September 9th and 16th 2013

September 9, 2013

Letter to All:

This week was good.  Tuesday we had a Multi-zone training.  The theme was Come, Follow Me.  We learned about Christ-like attributes.  How we should desire to follow Christ so closely that we are under his shadow.  It´s very important to study the scriptures and really learn what Christ is like, and to put it in practice!

This week we found 4 new positive families, the families we have are doing well, we just need to get them to church.  Maykalin had a baby girly on Tuesday so that´s why they didn´t show up to church.

We have a new investigator whose name is Castro, he´s the husband of a recent convert.  He has trouble with drinking. He hasn't drank alcohol for about a month, but the day before we first visited with him he had drink.  He has a baptismal date for September 28th.  He said he wants to get baptized but he wants to be sure with himself and ove come his drinking problem.

During divisions my companion went to visit him and in that very moment a friend of his came over to invite him to drink and he said no I´m going to listen to the Elders.  The spirit led them to come in that exact hour to keep him from temptation.  It truly is amazing how the spirit helps so much in this work.

Today we decided to try out our cooking skills, we made some Guatemalan food, chicken with green sauce and rice.

Love you all,
Elder Willdein

Letter to all:

Well this week we worked a lot, we had a good week, more lessons, more contacting.  Friday as a district we contacted 112 people!  We put forth a competition and I lost by 2 contacts, oh well!  I had to pay dinner for the other 2.

In church the attendance with everyone was 23 in the branch.  We have a lot of work to do...  I think Sunday I´m going to put everyone on a guilt trip for going to the parades instead of church.

We had an investigator come to church, his daughter is a member, it was his 3rd time in church but is first time in a while. He has a baptismal date for the 28th of this month, he is a drunk, but he hasn´t drank for almost 2 months now.  He wants to change his life and be united with is daughter.  His companion is difficult she didn´t come to church but we´ll see what happens with them this week.

The other 2 elders are doing great, I get to do 4 baptismal interviews this week!

We found 2 positive new investigators this week, Jordin and Orlando.  The both really want to know that church is true and they want to follow the Lord in their lives.  We are focusing a lot as a district in teaching to the people's needs and helping them have a hunger to accept the Gospel and showing them how it will help them in their lives.

We have a lot of work to do this week, it should be even better!

Love you all,

Elder Willden
